Du-ing something else now

Posted by sriram

October 8,2009 was my last day at Du. I realized about a week down the job that being at that lowly vendor position was just not my thing, hence I decided to quit after giving my employer a 30 day notice (a common practice in the gulf). So here I am, after a long vacation in India, studying to get certified (them microsoft, cisco and oracle exams)!

What's Sriram upto now?

I now work at Du (EITC) in Academic City, Dubai. Du is UAE's newest and second largest telecom operator. We excite our customers by providing great value for money while at the same time delivering cutting edge services over an integrated backbone. Quad play is the way Cool. Voice. Video. Internet. Mobile.

Hello! How Du You Du?

My work there? My position as of writing this is "Activation Engineer", a vendor position. I'm looking for an internal position that's more in-line with Development or at the very least core Networking. Meanwhile how about a Du Blog huh? Wouldn't that be a nice way to keep our valued customers in the communication loop?

Mandatory Disclaimer: Opinions expressed in Khoofia.com are not necessarily that of Du. This site is not officially linked to Du (EITC). Peace.

About Me

Hi! I'm Sriram ChandraSekaran -the guy in the pic Smile. This photo is back from during Imagine Cup in Egpyt, a couple of us people (Mark. Ian and Me) headed down (or up, depends on how you see it) to Upper Egypt (Luxor).

I'm a Computer Science graduate living in Dubai, I received my Bachelors in Engineering (honors) from Birla Insitute of Technology & Science, Pilani (a.k.a BITS,Pilani) at their campus in the magical emirate of Dubai. I've programmed on computers since i was 14. Got my first PC when i was 12, it was a Pentium Celeron 266Mhz with 32Mb RAM and a 2 Gb hard drive and it ran on a genuine Windows 98 OS Laughing (Used to be a big thing back in the days - PCs were expensive in India and pirated software ran just as well as the original).

I'm the founder of the Linux Users Group at my college and I also founded the .NET Club while I was there. Before becoming a Microsoft Student Partner and an Editor at Channel8, i was a pro Linux advocate. Now I prefer not to take sides, I just use whatever gets the job done. Technically, I'm not associated with Microsoft anymore since I dont qualify as a student.

In a classic 3rd person rendition of my bio and disclaimer:

This site is Sriram ChandraSekaran's online residence. This is where he hangs out when not working and wants to disseminate his views onto the interwebs. All of what you see here is hosted on USA servers and are therefore protected under the first amendment. Sriram takes extra care to not insult governments & organizations that have a history of vendetta and violence. This site does not represent the opinion of Sriram's employer or organization.
